One of Soil stabilization method is called Jet grouting which will improve the ground. Methods, procedures, applications, and advantages of jet grouting are discussed in this blog.
Jet grouting is a method of soil stabilization which involves the injection of a stabilizing fluid into the subsoil under high pressure and high velocity. Injection process requires a certain amount of site preparation as well as injection equipment. Jet grouting systems available now, and bracket the parameters most often used.
The method of jet grouting has become a worldwide system of soil treatment. Geo Grout Ground Modification Specialists, Inc. contractors build their experience using specific equipment and procedures so that they may be better apt to understand the risks that they assume.
a. Single Fluid Jet Grouting
It is common and useful in cohesionless soils. In the single jet configuration, the jetting fluid is grout which makes the three functions of loosening the soil, removing the excess, and providing the binder.
The single fluid method is the simplest, it is pump by the rod and exits the horizontal nozzle(s) in the monitor at high velocity.
b. Double Fluid Jet Grouting
If the very high-velocity grout jet is enclosed in a cone of air, the radius of action of the jet in the same soil is much increased.
In the double jet configuration, the air improves performance in removing in situ soil by acting as an airlift. It is capable of creating a larger column than the single fluid system. The double fluid system is also useful in cohesive soils than the single fluid system.
c. Triple Fluid Jet Grouting
The triple fluid system is more complicated than other jet grouting system due to the simultaneous injection of three different fluids, air, water, and grout. In the triple jet set-up, soil loosening and elimination are caused by water and air jets together, independently of the incorporation of the binder, which is delivered by a contemporary jet of low-pressure grout emerging from a low nozzle. This departs the erosion process from the grouting process and tends to yield a higher quality soil-cement mix.
